Since B.C. declared a state of emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Labour Relations Board has continued to provide services to the public with three key modifications:
- The reception services at 1066 West Hastings Street in Vancouver remain closed.
- It conducts all proceedings and meetings using virtual platforms or phone, subject to the Board’s COVID-19 policies.
- It conducts votes required by the Labour Relations Code (the Code) using electronic voting, or by mail ballot as the exception, subject to the Board’s COVID-19 policies.
In accordance with B.C.’s Restart Plan, orders and recommendations of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), information from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), and guidelines issued by WorkSafeBC, the Board has developed a number of policies aimed at ensuring that an in-person proceeding or vote can be conducted safely for all participants, including Board staff.
