How to update a certification

Only the parties to a certification (i.e., the union or employer) or an organization acting on their behalf (i.e, legal counsel, employer association, or union association) can apply to update a certificaiton.

Any party listed on the certification can file an application to update a certification, even if they aren't the party that initiated the change.

If the employer or union has a new name or address, you can apply to the Board for an administrative variance under Section 142 by completing form 142-ADMIN. (358 KB)

If there has been a change in the employer's business, consider whether there has been an employer successorship under Section 35.

If there has been a change in the union's structure, consider whether there has been a union successorship under Section 37.
